さあ、今日は動画から英語を学ぶ日曜日に投稿したかった内容です。

日常生活に戻った1週間はあっという間でした。

 

では、今回ご紹介する動画は、

米テレビ番組『TheEllenShow』から、

歌姫／ダンサー／ママなJenifer Lopez（ジェニファー・ロペス）をご紹介します。

 

 

コロナの自粛生活の中で、

子供の勉強をみなくてはならないことが結構きつかったのは、歌姫も同じ！

【Ellen】

What’s it like for you in quarantine?

You have the family there.

I’ve seen some of the things that you’re doing.

Are you running out things to do?

What are you doing?

 

（自主隔離中はどうすごしてる？家族みんなでいるのよね。

あなたがやってる色んなことを目にしたわよ。

もうやりつくしちゃった？何してるの？）

 

【Jennifer】

Yes, I mean, the whole family’s here.

We’re all been shut down for a few weeks now.

（そうなの、みんな一緒にいるわ。みんなでここで隔離生活して数週間ね。）

 

I have to say, I’ve been so on the run for the past few years that it’s nice to be home.

I planned to take  a little bit of time off after the whole Super Bowl thing and World of Dance that I finished filming a few weeks ago.

（まず言っておかなくてはならないんだけど、ここ数年間は忙しく飛び回ってたの。

だから家にいられるのは素敵なことよ。

スーパーボウルや数週間前に撮影が終わったワールドオブダンスの後は、

少し休みを取ろうとしていたの）

 

So it’s been nice so far.

I don’t know if it goes on a long time.

Check in with me in a a month or two.

I might be wanting to jump off the edge of the roof over there.

（だから今のところすごくいい気分よ。

もしもっとこの隔離生活が長くなったら分からないけど。

１、２か月後に私に聞いてみて。

もしかしたら屋根から飛び降りたくなってるかも笑。）

 

But right now, it’s kind of making lemonade out of lemons.

It’s terrible time for all of us, and a weird time, a scary time , anxious time.

We don’t know what’s gonna happen.

（でも今は、この生活から得られるものがあるって感じだわ。

もちろんみんなにとって、私たちにとっても、苦しくて恐ろしくて不安な時ではあるわ。

どうなってしまうのかは分からないから）

 

But having a re connection with the family and Alex and not having to run around so much is kind of nice too.

So making the best of it.

（でも、今は家族とアレックスと一緒にいることが出来て、あちこち飛び回ることなくいられていい時間を過ごしてる）

 

【Ellen】

Yeah, I think for those of us who are fortune enough to be able to in our home and not panicked out all the fears of where’s the next meal coming from, how long is this going to last , and we’re obviously all doing our part to help in every situation that we can and do what we can.

（そうだよね、私たちみたいに自分の家にいることができて、

この状況がいつまで続くの？って、翌日の食事のことを心配しなくていいような

幸運な人たちは、もちろん自分のできる限りあらゆることで手助けをしてる）

 

But for those of us fortune enough, it is a nice break from working constantly and  not being home enough to appreciate the relationships and just having time to sit still, which is something that I know you don’t do that often.

（でもそうやって幸運に恵まれてる私たちにとっては、

いつも働きづめで、家族たちとの関係にゆっくり感謝して

自宅で過ごす時間のなかった身としては、いい休暇になってるわよね。

私はあなたが今までそんなゆっくりと時間を持てなかったこと知ってるわ）

 

So I don’t know how long you’re gonna be able to do this, I know it feels good right now, but I can imagine you’re used to constantly moving.

（こうやっていつまでいられるか分からないけど、

あなたの今までの忙しさを想像できるから、

あなたが今素敵に時間を過ごせてうれしく思ってる）

 

Who’s homeschooling there?

Is it Alex or you?

Who’s helping with the homework?

（誰が家で勉強の面倒見てるの？

アレックス？それともあなた？

誰が宿題の面倒見てる？）

 

【Jennifer】

I help with the homework.

All four kids are doing virtual school right now.

And so I stay more on top of Emmy and Max about that.

Yeah me.

（私が宿題の面倒見てる。

今4人の子どもたちみんなが仮想学校してるから。）

 

【Ellen】

Do you find it easy? Or are you looking at like what is this?

（簡単だと思う？それとも、”え？これなに？”みたいな感じ？）

 

【Jennifer】

Honestly, I think we’re all like, what is this?

Like teacher. and also have you seen the math that they make the kids do now?

It’s a new math. IT’s a new math.

It’s crazy, and so half the time, i’m like “OK yeah let’s look up that word”. “What does that mean?”

It’s been an experience for sure.

（正直に言ってみんな”え？これなに？”状態だと思う。

先生みたいには出来ないし、

今子供たちがやってる数学ってどんなものか見たことある？

もう完全に新しい数学なの。

狂ってるわ。半分くらいの時間は”分かった、まずは用語を調べようか。これってどんな意味なの？”って感じ。

確かに経験できてるわ）
