And it’s like a love song during the quarantine. Am I right?

Yes, Yeah. That’s the vibe.　That’s the whole vibe of the song.

（そう、そのバイブだね。この曲のすべての雰囲気はそれなんだ）

You know, it was written in a time where, you know, I really wanted to see somebody, but we both couldn’t see each other, and the world was just, like , keeping us apart.

（ほら、この曲はあの時期、そう僕はある人に会いたかったんだけど会えなかったんだ。

だって世界中がそうだったからね。世界が僕たちを離してるように感じて）

 

And we both knew that we couldn’t see each other, too.

（僕たち自身も会うことは無理だって分かってもいたんだ）

 

As much as we wanted to see each other, we knew that, you know, just for safety of ourselves and for our families and for everyone around us, that we can’t see each other.

（僕たちがお互い会いたいって思う気持ちと同じくらい、

自分たち自身、家族、自分たちの周りの安全のために会うべきじゃないって理解してた）

 

So that’s pretty much, the song is from my perspective and kind of just dealing with that frustration.

（だからこの曲は、僕からの見方と、この会えない葛藤との対処を歌ってる）

 

And the music video is like going into that daydream where it’s like, “Okay, but what if we did see each other?”

“What would it be like if we did hang out?”

“If we could hang out, what would it be like?”

（ミュージックビデオは、僕の空想を形にしたもので、

”会えないのは分かってるけど、もし会えてたら？”

”もし一緒に遊べてたらどんなだっただろう？”

”会うことだ出来てたら、どんな感じになってたかな？”って。）

 

So that’s the whole daydream in the music video with the car and the girl and the beach and everything.
